On June 10, 2021, He left for Dhaka in a private car from Rangpur. His companions were 2nd - Abdul Muhit, Mohammad Firoz. And the driver is Amir Uddin Faiz. All four of them went missing along with the car, no trace was found. After the disappearance of Abu Taha Adnan, the news spread widely on social media. Everyone gave status on their accounts asking for him. Even in the parliament, he was talked about in the parliament. His second wife Sabikunnahar said in a press conference, 'He had a disagreement with a faction of scholars over religious doctrine. Due to these reasons, he did not get any response from known scholars for help. Rather, common people and followers are much more vocal online to get Adnan back'. He was missing for seven days, in these seven days everyone raised his voice for him. There is a lot of response all around. In a live episode of Face the People, he was tracked by the GPS of his Google account. He was found on 18 June 2021. Later he was taken to the custody of Rangpur police. The shelf was kept there and interrogated. He was brought to court that night. He and his companions were released after taking their statements.
